Free Wordpress Installation
Website Development No Comments »Sure, there are ways you can make money online without having a website, but having one will definitely give you an extra marketing tool well worth the investment.
Many people, maybe like yourself, struggle when it comes to understanding the process behind website creation. As a computer science major, website development isn’t a complicated task for me, but if you don’t have the skills in that area, it could very easily be intimidating to go about starting your own website.
Nowadays, it’s actually not that hard to create your own website. There have been so many tools released online that make creating a website much easier than what it used to be. One of these tools is Wordpress. Wordpress is totally free; doesn’t cost you a single dime. In fact, this site uses Wordpress. I like it because it’s super easy to use and adding new content doesn’t take forever (or money) to do. Sure, as a programmer, I could make my own content management system to make updating easy, but why go through the trouble when Wordpress does everything I need for it to? Anyways, if you’re just starting out and want to create a website, I would seriously recommend you try Wordpress.
Ok, so Wordpress is nice and all, but it’s not everything. You still need a domain and a hosting provider. A domain is your website’s address (like realmoneyreviews.com). A hosting provider stores your website files on their servers. In order to make your website work, you need both of these. These two things, unlike Wordpress, are not free. BUT, that does not mean it’s expensive. In fact, most people can get away paying as little as $5 a month for both of these things combined. If you’re not willing to spend $5 a month to make money online, you’re in the wrong business.
I use 1&1 as my hosting provider (2 domains come free with my hosting package). I’ve had no problems using them, plus their prices are absolutely amazing. I HIGHLY recommend getting a home Linux hosting package. You may not understand the difference between Microsoft and Linux hosting, but trust me, Linux hosting is better in my opinion and just as easy to use.
If you haven’t already read up on Wordpress, I suggest you do so now and then come back here. Isn’t it awesome? Once you setup a hosting account and register a domain (1&1 makes it easy to do), you’re ready to install Wordpress. Simply follow the directions on the site on transferring files to your hosting account and setting up a database for use with Wordpress. Easy enough? Well, I think so, but if you’re not technical minded at all, it may seem a little hard to do. That’s ok, though. I’m offering my services for free to help you setup Wordpress to work on your hosting account.
It’ll take me maybe 15 minutes to do so it’s no big deal. I’ve seen someone charge up to $150 to install Wordpress; not me though. I’m doing this for free. I don’t know how long I will offer this though. If I get swamped, I may have to turn some people down. You don’t even need to be hosted with 1&1, but if you are, it’ll make my life a whole lot easier since that is what I’m familiar with.
