Joint ventures should be one of the most important items on your agenda if you have a product of your own that you just have released (or are about to). If you’re new to making money online, you probably don’t have your own list to market to and in order to be successful, you should cut deals with other marketers that do have lists related to your niche.

Here are a few tips to help you attract potential JV partners:

Give your joint venture partners a higher commission rate.

Instead of normally giving your affiliates 50% of a sale, give your JV partners 75% or more. You want to let your partners know that you are serious about making a deal, and if you don’t have a list of your own, you better offer them something better than normal.

Ensure your product or service is top notch.

If you’re looking for JV partners, you better make sure your product or service is worth buying. Nobody wants to make recommendations for crappy products. Doing so hurts their reputation and as a result, their list will become less responsive to what they have to say. Give your potential parters a review copy of your product and ensure them of quality.

Work on your sales copy.

Your partners want to make sure your sales page converts people into customers. If it doesn’t, they simply make no money and neither do you.

Build a relationship with potential partners.

Don’t just hit people up with, “I want to do a JV with you. Your list will like my product.”

Ask them how they’re doing and praise them on their own products/list/website/whatever. Participate in online forums with them. Basically, don’t be a complete stranger to them.

Offer them your services.

Sometimes offering them a higher commission doesn’t work. Think about what talents you have. Perhaps you can program. If so, offer your services in exchange for an endorsement of your product to their list.

Make them an offer they can’t refuse.

Combine some or all of the points above and make them an offer they will surely be attracted to. If you’re new to the game, sometimes you just have to do more work to gain JV partners than the other marketers who have been around a while and already have contacts.

Try to get as many JV partners as possible. You want their lists to total at least 100,000 people. So, if you have 10 JV partners, each of them should have 10,000 subscribers on their list. Does this make sense? I hope so.

When you reach out to 100,000 people across multiple lists, you will naturally attract more affiliates to promote your product. Not every subscriber is on a list because they want advice; some are other marketers wanting to know about new products being released so that they can take a piece of the pie too.

Joint ventures work VERY well if you know how to do them right. Use the tips above and I’m sure you’ll be on your way to JV success.
